Something seem strange about John Piper lately?

BETH MOORE AND JOHN PIPER LEAD LECTIO DIVINA-LITE AT PASSION 2012

***Please note that by posting this I'm not saying that all of Piper's teachings must be dismissed. He has made some very valuable contributions to the Church and as with everything, we must use discernment and be Bereans.

  1. Thanks for linking to Wendy's article on my blog. I really liked it too.

  2. John Piper lost nearly all his credibility with me, when he gave his endorsement of the whacked theology of Rick Warren...

Rick Warren is on a joint commission with Bill Clinton, for the "One" world church, and preaches nothing of sin and the need for our savior..he endorses homosexuality and many counter-doctrinal things.

I can't support him, so Piper has lost my support, as well!

    1. I agree. I was concerned even before then, when he had Mark Driscoll speak at the DG conference. Then there was the "God whacked the ELCA with a tornado" blog post (not that I support the ELCA, I just don't think we can declare God's will based on nature. We already knew the ELCA was in the wrong with their position on homosexual clergy), then his support of Rick Warren, and now this. I never was a real fan of Piper - more beacuse of his emotional style than anything, but now he's lost his credibility with me.

Your comments are such a blessing to me.

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
